Sri Satyadharma Theertharu

Sri Satyadharma Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Satyavara Theertha. He comes in the lineage of Uttaradhi mutt.

Sri Satyadharma Theertha got his education from Satyabodha theertha. He was very poor during his Poorvashrama days and had done severe penance (Seva) to Sri Raghavendra Swami of Manthralaya, who had blessed in his dream that circumstances would so develop that he would become the pontiff of Uttaradi Mutt and win very wide name and fame not only for himself but also to his Matha.

It is believed that during Sri Satyadharma Theertha period the mutt property and wealth got increased. At the request of Mysore king he installed the idol of Varaha Swamy. He also installed Mukhyaprana idol in a big mutt in Holenarasipura which was built by Deewan Poornaiah for him. He also installed Mukhyaprana idol in Chikpet in Bangalore. It is believed that Sri Satyadharma Theertha told detailed meaning to each and every word of Bhagavatha. He wrote many Grantha’s, some of them are;

He gave Ashrama to Sri Navaratna Srinivasacharya and named him as Satyasankalpa Theertha and handed over Peeta to him and then he entered Vrundavana at Holehonnur.
